Under the direction of the Surveillance Technical Supervisor, the Surveillance Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, commissioning and decommissioning of Surveillance Department systems and low voltage equipment.  To include but not limited to; documenting, installing, programming, configuring, relocating, cleaning, troubleshooting and testing.  The Surveillance Technician is also responsible for ensuring the surveillance system is operating within regulatory guidelines at all times.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in and ensures the quality of operations in the Surveillance Technical Division of the Surveillance Department; communicates with Surveillance department team members.
  • Installs Surveillance Department equipment such as wiring, cameras, PC equipment, racks, conduit and chases as well as the installation of connectors and terminals.
  • Maintains, diagnoses and troubleshoots systems and equipment.
  • Operates equipment such as man lifts, Ariel boom lift/truck, utility vehicles and company vehicles.  Uses tools including but not limited; ladders, power tools and various hand tools.
  • Participates in the development and implementation key strategies, best practice techniques and tactics to ensure systems optimization.
  • Assists in planning, execution, and the management of projects.  Negotiates and meets deadlines in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Assists in the organization and distribution of the workflow of Technical staff; reviews reports from subordinates and provides reports to the Surveillance Technical Supervisor or as directed.
  • Researches surveillance technology and recommend enhancements to ensure efficient and cost-effective surveillance operations.
  • Provides testimony as a subject matter expert in Gaming Commission Hearings, Tribal Court or Court of Law.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of SMTGC internal controls, casino policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and tribal regulations pertaining to the SMBMI and its casino operations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all games offered by the casino.
  • Shares knowledge, trends and Surveillance, Information Technology best practices with team members to continuously develop and enhance personal and team capabilities.
  • Is "on-call" and is responsible for coordinating technical staff in response to business needs on a 24 hour 7 day a week basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

 

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational/Technical/Business certification in Low Voltage, Surveillance Technical, Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year Low Voltage, Surveillance Technical, Information Technology or related experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years Low Voltage, Surveillance Technical, Information Technology or related experience preferred.
  • PC literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as familiarity with tools required.
  • Able to follow safety guidelines when using required equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties.

 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • CompTIA A+ (various) or equivalent certification preferred.
