Under the direction of the Fleet Manager, the Enterprise Fleet Specialist oversees and coordinates the activities of the Fleet Services component of the Procurement Services Department.  The stated goal of the department is to deliver world-class fleet service, in accordance with current policies, procedures, and established objectives.

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

1. Schedules and oversees maintenance and repairs on all San Manuel owned vehicles and equipment. Coordinates vehicle registration renewal with local commercial DMV office.

2. Manages organization wide fleet operations to include vehicle acquisition and replacement. Understands, applies and ensures the department’s compliance with established professional standards, directives, approved procedures and policies, applicable federal and state regulations along with tribal ordinances and all Indian gaming related regulations.

3. Creates requisitions for service. Scans and enters all vehicle service records, repairs and DMV registration into Fleet Management database.

4. Tracks spend on preventative maintenance, associated equipment repair needs and vehicle/equipment replacement.

5. Works with Purchasing and Sourcing to negotiate, maintain and manage contracts and accounts with dealers, vehicle service centers, fuel accounts, automotive washers/detailers and tow companies.

6. Provides minor diagnostic evaluations on San Manuel vehicles and may complete minor repairs in an effort to conserve spending.

7. Routinely checks to ensure contracts are being fulfilled.

8. Creates and maintains all other records, inventories, and charts related to vehicle, radio, and building maintenance.

9. Assists in the development of strategic goals, including both short and long-term business objectives.

10. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

 

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.  Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution is desired; a degree in Business Management or Organizational Leadership is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years recent experience in performance of the associated duties required.
  • Must have verifiable experience in analyzing and projecting budgets, fleet vehicle maintenance and repair management, and radio system maintenance and repair management.
  • Understands, applies and ensures the department’s compliance with established professional standards, directives, approved procedures and policies, applicable federal and state regulations along with tribal ordinances and all Indian gaming related regulations.
  • Represents the department publicly in a courteous manner and serves as a key representative to internal/external customers to maintain effective relations.
  • Must have verifiable experience with computers and programs including Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write intelligently in the English language.  Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills are desired.
  • Must be familiar with hazardous materials, how to properly maintain and store them.
  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles and methods related to administration, resource and records management, compliance measures, operational command structures, and equivalent supervisory positions.
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum experience requirements indicated above.

 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in “A” series is preferred.
  • California Commercial Driver License (Commercial Class C, B, or A with Passenger Endorsement) is preferred.
  • Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate issued by a certified medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry is preferred.
  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier.
