SUMMARY
The Chief Operations Officer is responsible for developing and executing daily operations and management strategies in support of overall business goals and strategic direction for the Tribal Government, its subsidiaries, enterprises, and affiliates. The Chief Operations Officer oversees and acts with delegated authority for Government Administration. The Chief Operations Officer acts as a governmental liaison to Gun Lake Casino Executive Management on behalf of the Tribal Council. The Chief Operations Officer facilitates and negotiates with other agencies and represents the interests of the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Tribal Government to local, state, and federal government agencies. The Chief Operations Officer is tasked with facilitating strategic planning and initiatives, change management, financial objectives, and cultural changes as defined by the Tribal Council.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate degree in the field of Business Administration or Public Administration with at least five years of senior executive level experience
o Minimum of three years of Director level experience managing Human Resources Administration, Financial oversight, Tribal Gaming and Tribal Government operations or a combination thereof; OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with ten years in a senior executive-level position that includes;
o Minimum of five years of Director level experience managing Human Resources Administration, Financial Oversight, Tribal Gaming and Tribal Government operations, or a combination thereof
• Demonstrated success in mentoring and managing large, cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated leadership skills, well-defined interpersonal skills, and outstanding communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of laws, codes, and agency regulations that apply to Tribal Government and Tribal enterprises

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Work is typically performed in an office environment; however, work may be conducted in the casino, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second-hand smoke
• Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
• Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment
• Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, sitting, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting and grasping

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license
• Ability and willingness to travel as necessary; locally and out of town, including overnight stays, to attend various conferences, trainings, and meetings
• Will require some non-traditional hours, including working evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to meet essential organizational management and strategic deadlines
