General Description |
Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services. This position assists in the execution of HR programs and processes, provides day-to-day employee relations and administrative support, manages and is responsible for select HR processes. |
Responsibilites |
- Assists with all internal and external HR related items
- Participates in developing organizational guidelines and procedures
- Assists with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts as needed.
- Investigates complaints brought forward by employee.
- Coordinates employee development plans and performance management actions.
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activities
- Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all employment compliance and regulations that apply to the Tribe.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or policies as directed.
- Process complaints and investigations regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain employee personnel records.
- Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for termination.
- Assist in Payroll as needed
- Assist in the development of wage and salary scales; participates in surveys to ensure pay scale complies with changing laws and regulations as well as benchmarking positions against market to ensure competitive compensation.
- Writes, revises, edits and proofreads company policies and procedures and related documents as needed.
- Analyzes leave trends and makes recommendations to HR Team
- Administering and conducting effective training programs for supervisors and employees
- Effectively investigating and resolving grievances within departments
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the HR Director.
Knowledge and Skills - High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in use of computer software applications, especially Abilla/MIP, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Word software.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Optimistic and “Team” work ethic is essential, shows flexibility and resilience with shifting priorities.
- Self-motivated and takes initiative.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential matters with maximum discretion.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, meet all deadlines and follow-up on objectives efficiently.

- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a high stress environment.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screen
- Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License

Education requirements |
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of Human Resources experience is required.
- Experience working for Native American Tribal Government is a plus
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred
- Understanding of personnel and compliance records management
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Human Resource field
